BEAU NKHOMA
AGE: 19 FORM: 3
Beau likes teaching Sunday School, drawing and playing football. He previously attended school in Zimbabwe until starting Form 3 in Malawi.

CHIMWEMWE PHIRI
AGE: 23 FORM: 4
Chimwemwe is very grateful for the chance to start again. He re-entered primary school as an older student and worked hard to eventually become second in his class.

CHIMWEMWE SOKO
AGE: 16 FORM: 2
Chimwemwe does well in Mathematics, English, and Biology. She enjoys singing and teaching the Bible.

CHIMWEMWE ISAIAH KANYENDA
AGE: 19 FORM: 4
Chimwemwe has 7 siblings, including his twin brother Madilitso. He hopes to further his education without worry of school fees, especially after falling behind in Mathematics when he briefly dropped out.

CHISOMO MWINJIRO BANDA
AGE: 18 FORM: 2
Chisomo recently lost her mother to AIDS and has never known her father. After lack of school fees caused her to change schools, she fears falling behind. But she is determined to improve and pass her Junior Certificate exams.

HOPE KATUYA SIMWAKA
AGE: 17 FORM: 4
Hope is the first in his family to be educated. He lacked school fees when his uncle could no longer support him, and fell from first in his class to last. With the ESF's help, he is excelling again.

IDAH GONDWE
AGE: 18 FORM: 4
Idah is the second of six children. Her parents cannot afford to send her to school. She's currently having difficulty in many subjects.

JOSEPH CHIPETA
AGE: 17 FORM: 3
Joseph would like to go further with his education but does not have parents to support him. He is doing well in several subjects. He enjoying composing songs, art, and playing football.

MADILITSO ELIJAH KANYENDA
AGE: 19 FORM: 4
Madalitso has 7 siblings, including his twin brother Chimwemwe. Their father left when they were children. He missed a term due to lack of fees, but is doing well in English, and enjoys football and reading.

NOZGA KAPIRA
AGE: 17 FORM: 4
Nozga's father stopped working and with four children to support, could not afford the school fees. Nozga passed his JC exams with good grades but when his father stopped working, he did not take his MSCE exams.

ROBERT BANDA
AGE: 19 FORM: 4
Robert lost his parents early, and now lives with his brother, who cannot pay for school. He has had problems focusing in the past but is now determined to excel. He enjoys writing and acting in dramas and playing computer games.

ULEDI BANDA
AGE: 17 FORM: 3
Uledi, although the youngest in his family of 8 siblings, hopes to set a good example for the others by excelling in school. He passed his JC exams with good grades.
