He arrived in better condition than most of the other boys because his grandma is the village chief.

He is now focused on being successful. He is one of the top students in the class. He loves to read and takes charge of each task. He wants to be the next president. Most of the adults and teachers depend heavily on him bringing the boys together. He is a born leader.
2008
The other boys regard him as a leader, which he handles remarkably well. He continues aspiring to be president, but plans to build a career as an accountant while working towards this goal.

TIMOTHY

He had discipline problems. His name was changed because he said "I have the same name as my father. My father is crazy, so that means that I will be crazy."

After he changed his name, he changed his attitude. Although he still struggles in school, he perseveres. He is still very quiet and keeps to himself most of the time.
2008
Timothy continues to be a shy and sensitive young man. While quiet in the presence of a group, his writing and one-on-one conversation reveals a person with a hopeful eye towards the future. He plans to become either a mechanic in Lilongwe or a teacher in London.
